post it notes
Reading: Passage due Friday
In addition to our nightly reading, we will now have a reading passage for homework. This will be given on the first school day of the week and due on the last day of the school week.
Read at least 20 minutes each night. Reading can be fiction or nonfiction. If reading fiction, discuss characters, setting, problem, solution, point of view, or theme with someone at home. If reading nonfiction, discuss main idea, details, author's purpose, text structure and features.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY
Tuesdays are “Message Days” at Broadway.

bring home a folder containing his/her work and conduct from the previous week.
Please review these papers and conduct with your child ,then sign and return the Tuesday folder the following day.

the teacher, principal, or P.T.O.
Take the time to visit the CISD website to sign up for our Parent Access
Center. Through this system you will have access to report card grades,
attendance & discipline records, cafeteria accounts, and STAAR information.
We encourage you to visit our websites regularly.
Weekly and monthly events will be posted on
Teachers also post assignments and projects
on their websites.
You may request a conference at any time throughout the school year.
Each teacher has a
conference time that coincides with the grade level fine arts time.
Our conference time is 2:00-3:00.
I look forward to the opportunity to meet each student's family, and consider family to be an extension of our classroom.
My door is always open. Please e-mail or call for any reason at all. Looking forward to working together!
Water Bottles and Snack
Hydration and nutrition are important to learning.
Students are encouraged to bring water bottles to school.
Water bottles should be labeled with your child's name. Only water is allowed.
Students are also allowed to bring a nutritional snack (no cookies or candy, please).
To celebrate a birthday, parents may bring an individually packges sweet treat (Little Debbie snacks or Rice Crispy Treats are good options), to be distributed in the cafeteria during the last 5 minutes of lunch.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND BIRTHDAY INVITATIONS TO SCHOOL.
