Dear Broadway Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!  My name is Jamie Almond and I am the new Assistant Principal at Broadway Elementary.  I am thrilled and honored to be a part of the Broadway family of students, parents, staff, and community.  Conroe ISD serves as a model of educational excellence, and I am looking forward to partnering with each of you as we continue to propel our Broadway Stars to new heights in the 21st century.

In my sixteen years of education, I have served in numerous roles and positions in four different school districts.  As an administrator, Curriculum Coordinator, Instructional Coach, ESL specialist, and classroom teacher, I have gained valuable insight and experience to ensure a quality education for students with diverse backgrounds and needs.  Additionally, my educational background consists of receiving my Bachelor’s degree in Applied Learning and Development from The University of Texas in Austin and Master’s degree in Bilingual/ESL and Educational Leadership from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

I recently celebrated my 23rd anniversary with my high school sweetheart, Shawn, who is also an educator.  Being the parent of two college students, a 9th grader, and a 6th grader fill our lives with joy, excitement, and adventure.  We lived in The Woodlands previously for ten years, moved away for ten years, and now we call the Oak Ridge feeder zone home (and we love it)!  We are enjoying discovering all the new places to eat, shop, and play.

I appreciate the opportunity to serve Broadway Elementary as Assistant Principal and I look forward to meeting each one of you.  Please feel free to contact me with any comments, questions, or concerns.

Sincerely,

Jamie Almond
